Wildfire Update: San Bernardino County, Highland, California

A wildfire is burning in the San Bernardino Mountains of California. The fire started on Saturday, August 12th, 2023, near the community of Highland. It has since grown to over 100 acres and is threatening homes and businesses in the area.

Evacuations

Evacuations are in place for the following areas:

  • The community of Highland
  • Parts of the city of San Bernardino
  • The unincorporated community of Devore

Road Closures

The following roads are closed:

  • Highway 330 between Highland Avenue and Devore Road
  • Devore Road between Highway 330 and Interstate 215

Firefighting Efforts

Firefighters are working to contain the fire, but it is being fueled by windy conditions. Air tankers and helicopters are dropping water and fire retardant on the flames.
