Suspect Identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks

Former President Donald Trump was shot in the right ear during a campaign rally on Saturday, sparking panic and streaking the Republican presidential hopeful from the stage. The FBI has identified the suspect as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.

The shooting happened as Mr. Trump was holding a large outdoor rally on the grounds of the Butler Farm Show in Butler, a town of 13,000 people. TV cameras captured the dramatic moment when Mr. Trump was shot. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.

According to witnesses, Crooks fired a single shot from a handgun. The bullet struck Mr. Trump in the right ear, causing a minor injury. Mr. Trump was able to continue speaking after the shooting, but he was visibly shaken.

Crooks was arrested at the scene. He is currently being held in the Butler County Jail. The FBI is investigating the motive behind the shooting.
