First Firing Test Success for AIM-120C-8
The US Air Force and Raytheon have reached a significant milestone in the evolution of the Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM). Under the Form Fit Function Refresh (F3R) program, the AIM-120D-3 and AIM-120C-8 variants have been developed, offering advanced capabilities.
The first flight test of the AIM-120C-8, the latest international variant of the AMRAAM, has been successfully completed. This advanced missile features 15.1 upgrades, enhancing its performance in various operational scenarios.
The successful flight test marks a critical step in the integration of these enhanced missiles into the US Air Force and select allied air forces. The AMRAAM remains a vital component of modern air defense systems, providing superior air-to-air combat capabilities.
